WCAG 2.2 Level AA

PDF accessibility checker

Upload a PDF and Adaptadoc checks it against WCAG 2.2 Level AA, repairs the tagging, headings, reading order and contrast it can fix automatically, and hands back an accessible copy with a plain-English report of every change.

PDFs cost 2 credits per page. Credits are only spent when you run the check.

What the PDF check covers

Tags and structure

Untagged PDFs get a full tag structure — paragraphs, lists and tables marked so screen readers can navigate them.

Headings in the right order

Headings are identified from your text and nested correctly — no skipped levels, so assistive technology can build a proper outline.

Reading order

Content is ordered the way a person would read it, not the order it happens to sit in the file.

Color contrast

Text that falls below the 4.5:1 minimum is darkened to the nearest passing shade.

Title and language

The document title and language are set so screen readers announce the file correctly.

Honest about limits

Scanned PDFs are pictures of text — there's nothing to repair structurally, so we tell you upfront instead of charging you.
