Terms and Conditions
The ground rules for using Adaptadoc, written to be read rather than skimmed.
Using Adaptadoc
Adaptadoc checks Word, PDF and PowerPoint documents against WCAG 2.2 Level AA, automatically repairs what it can, and returns a corrected copy with a plain-English report. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.
You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and you must give accurate account information.
Accounts
You're responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity on your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else is using it.
You can delete your account yourself at any time from the Account page. Deleting your account removes your documents, records and remaining credits; it does not refund payments already made.
Credits
Adaptadoc is pay-as-you-go. Credits are spent when you run the accessibility check on a document — never when you upload one. Current rates:
Every new account starts with 5 free credits, granted once. Credits you buy never expire and can't be transferred between accounts or exchanged for money.
If a document can't be processed — for example, a scanned or password-protected PDF — no credits are spent.
- 1 credit per page for Word documents
- 1 credit per slide for PowerPoint decks
- 2 credits per page for PDFs
Payments and refunds
You buy credit packs as one-time purchases. Prices are shown before you pay, and applicable tax is added at checkout. Payments are handled by Stripe.
If a charge went wrong or a document couldn't be repaired, contact us and we'll make it right. Refunds may be returned to your balance as credits or, where appropriate, to your original payment method. Credits already spent on completed checks aren't refundable unless the check itself failed.
If a payment is disputed or reversed, the credits from that payment are removed from your balance, even if they've already been spent — a negative balance may pause further checks until it's settled.
Your documents
You keep all rights to the documents you upload. You confirm you have the right to upload anything you send us and to have it repaired.
Adaptadoc only adjusts the accessibility layer — tags, headings, image descriptions, contrast and metadata. Your text, layout and branding aren't changed, and the original file is always kept alongside the repaired one.
Automatic repairs aren't a certification of accessibility. The report lists everything found, including anything that needs your judgment — the final decision on content like image descriptions is yours.
Acceptable use
Don't use Adaptadoc to process material you have no right to upload, to break the law, to probe or overload the service, or to resell the service without permission. We may suspend accounts that do.
Service availability
We aim to keep Adaptadoc available, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or discontinue features. If something breaks on our end while you have unused credits, you keep those credits.
Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is." To the fullest extent allowed by law, Adaptadoc disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Adaptadoc doesn't provide legal advice, and using it doesn't guarantee your documents comply with any law, contract, or standard. The report tells you what was found and changed — decisions about compliance are yours.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Adaptadoc isn't liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be posted here, and continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it. These terms were last updated in October 2026.
